Bit 3's 436 Q22 to VME Adaptor supports the interconnection of a Q22-busto any VMEbus system with 32-bit addressing capability. The Q22-bussystem can be any DEC Q22-bus product, such as a MicroVAX or PDP/LSIsystem.The 436 consists of two printed circuit cards. One card is for the Q22-bus and the other is for a VMEbus system slot. The two cards areconnected with a round EMI-shielded cable or optional fiber-optic cable.Address mapping permits the Q22-bus to directly address VMEbus addresses.The VMEbus system can be set up to be a bus master processor on the Q22-bus. The Q22-bus system can be a coprocessor or the only processor onthe VMEbus system. Communication between the two systems is by randomaccess 16-bit reads and writes.In direct mapping mode, up to 4 MB of VMEbus address space is accessiblefrom the Q22-bus as Q22-bus memory. Page mapping mode permits the Q22-bus to access 4 GB of VMEbus addresses in page sizes from 64 KB to 1 MB.
